There are 9 series, the main changes are divided into 3 groups:
1st: from 03/1965 until 04/1965
2nd: from 04/1965 until 07/1965
3rd: from 07/1965 until 11/1965
4th: from 11/1965 until 03/1966
5th: from 03/1966 until 08/1968
6th: from 08/1968 until 10/1968
7th: from 10/1968 until 02/1970

Rear of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd series: license plate light holder in polished aluminum mounted in a low position, “nuova 500” writing in polished aluminium, air intake with rib and 6 screws and new rear lights.

Doors with “against the wind” opening, polished aluminum door sill profiles, polished aluminum cups, two-tone colored vinyl seats (with white bezel and white seat edging).
Door with polished aluminum closing handle, replaced early in July 1965 with a black plastic handle.
“8 bolts per door” bolting feature. Also called “Otto Bulloni” or “8 Bulloni”
Interior in vinyl with two-tone front seats and folding rear seat.
Rear panel in vinyl with ribs (resembling the design of the front panels).
Detail of the bottom of the front seats with rubber belt cushioning.
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th bonnet and part of the 5th series: Jack (facing backwards), tank cap (with two protrusions), rectangular brake fluid reservoir, 22 liter tank.
Air filter (larger than D) with 2 clips, green cables with green sheath, coil on the left. (Originally the engine air intake hose was made of rubberized fabric and not rubber as in the photo).
One-piece front mask in chromed plastic (always hides the horn), asymmetric headlights, suppression of the front position/indicator light base in polished aluminum.
Painting of the roof frame in beige/grey canvas (code 684) for all F models, single black plastic roof closing handle.
Wheel arches also called “fenders” and bottom painted in the same color as the bodywork. Since 1966 steel door sill cups.
Front panel in vinyl with plastic door closing handle, 4 bolts per door.
“Nuova 500” lettering in polished aluminium, chromed plastic license plate light holder (always in the low position).
Complete interior: note the rear side panel in plastic (and no longer in vinyl) at the top left.
Dashboard: pressed cardboard tray (almost plasticized).
Jack (forward facing).
Fuel cap with knurled edge.
Front seats with spring damping.
Air intake on the rear of the car with 3 screws (not painted).
Interior in “vinyl leather” from the latest series (from 8/68) with matching bezel, “vinyl leather” panels.
Chrome lettering on a black “diamond” background on the rear bonnet.
Other details: #
- Widening of the front windshield surface
- Half roof and pavilion made in a single mold (and not in 3 pieces bolted together like the D)
- New chrome “push button” door opening handle
- Speedometer with 120 km/h scale, black plastic light switch
- Increase in power from 17.5 to 18 HP
- Addition of a vent gas recirculation device
- Creation of a new muffler with two “half-shells” welded together (no longer like a “socket”)
- Modification to the clutch thrust bearing (with ball bearing), larger brake cylinders, strengthening of the suspension arms, larger joints and axle shafts
- From 1968:
- Reversal of the ashtray opening direction
- Slight change in the shape of the electrical switches on the dashboard
- Whisker still chromed but with the horn moved near the steering gear
- Coil on the right (like L)
- Brake fluid reservoir turned by 90° with the final part oblique
- From 1970:
- Moving the chromed license plate light holder upwards
- On request steering lock with built-in ignition switch (and consequent chromed cap in place of the key switch in the center of the dashboard)
- From 1971:
- The 500 F was also produced by Autobianchi (chassis numbers starting with “6”) and by Sicilfiat (chassis numbers starting with “5”)
