Some people install an AirTag (Apple device) in their Fiat 500 or other car. An AirTag is a tracking system that uses Apple’s crowdsourced Find My network (via Bluetooth).
AirTags are not satellite navigation devices. AirTags are located on a map in the Find My app by using Bluetooth signals from other anonymous iOS and iPadOS devices around the world. To help prevent unwanted tracking, an iOS/iPadOS device will alert the owner if someone else’s AirTag appears to be with them for too long, rather than with the owner of the AirTag. If an AirTag is out of range of an Apple device for more than 8 to 24 hours, it will start beeping to alert someone that an AirTag may have been placed in their belongings.
The AirTag may start making noises, this is not what you want. If the car is stolen, you don’t want to reveal the AirTag’s location. Watch this video to see how to mute the AirTag. Fiat van der Laan is not responsible for damage to the AirTag.
Very helpful tip!! Thank you!
